Ingredients
Ingredients
- 4 cups green grapes, cleaned
- 1 cup Monk Fruit Sweetener (granulated)
- 2 limes, juiced
- 2-3 tsp citric acid (optional, or more to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the workspace. Cover a large baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy; then clean and dry the grapes thoroughly.
- Mix grapes with lime juice. Place the cleaned grapes into a large bowl and pour the juice from 2 fresh limes over them. Stir well to coat evenly and refrigerate for 10 minutes to infuse flavor.
- Prepare the coating mixture. In a medium bowl, combine the granulated monk fruit sweetener and citric acid (if using), mixing them thoroughly to create the candy coating mixture.
- Coat the grapes. Take the chilled grapes out of the fridge and individually roll each grape in the monk fruit sweetener mixture, ensuring each grape is completely covered with the coating for a sweet and tangy shell.
- Freeze the grapes. Place the coated grapes in a single layer on the prepared parchment-lined baking dish, then transfer to the freezer. Freeze for 2 to 3 hours until firm and frozen.
- Serve and enjoy. Once frozen, enjoy your candied grapes directly from the freezer as a refreshing, sweet snack. Store leftovers in the freezer to maintain freshness.
Notes
- Citric acid is optional but enhances the tart flavor and helps keep the coating crisp.
- Make sure grapes are fully dried before coating to help the sweetener stick better.
- You can substitute lime juice with lemon juice if preferred.
- Use a low-calorie sweetener like monk fruit to keep this dessert healthy and diabetic-friendly.
- Store coated grapes in an airtight container in the freezer to prevent freezer burn and maintain texture.
