Ingredients
Fish and Oil
- 4-5 Mahi Mahi fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400ºF (204ºC) and allow it to fully preheat to ensure even cooking and optimal crispiness of the mahi mahi fillets.
- Prepare the Fish: Place the mahi mahi fillets on a shallow dish or a cutting board. Using a brush or your hands, rub both sides of each fillet thoroughly with the olive oil to help the seasoning adhere and promote browning.
- Mix and Apply Seasoning: In a small bowl, whisk together the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this spice blend evenly over both sides of the fish fillets ensuring each piece is well-coated.
- Air Fry the Fish: Arrange the seasoned fillets in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook the mahi mahi for 10 minutes total, flipping the fillets halfway through cooking to brown both sides evenly. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145ºF (63ºC).
- Serve and Garnish: Once cooked, carefully remove the fillets from the air fryer. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a drizzle of fresh lemon juice if desired for an added burst of flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy your crispy, tender mahi mahi.
Notes
- You can substitute olive oil with avocado oil for a higher smoke point and mild flavor.
- Adjust seasoning amounts to taste, especially salt and pepper.
- Ensure fillets are similar thickness for even cooking.
- Check fish doneness with a fork; it should flake easily without being dry.
- Serve with a side of steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
