Ingredients
Shrimp
- 1 lb large shrimp (peeled, deveined, tail intact)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp seafood seasoning (i.e. Seafood Magic or Old Bay)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp granulated garlic or garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
- 1-2 Tbsp chopped Italian parsley
- lemon wedges for serving
Spicy Remoulade Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp hot sauce
- 1 tsp seafood seasoning (i.e. Seafood Magic or Old Bay)
- 2 medium cloves garlic (minced)
Instructions
- Season the shrimp: Place peeled and deveined shrimp with tails on in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then toss shrimp with seafood seasoning, paprika, granulated garlic, salt, and lemon pepper until they are evenly coated.
- Prepare the air fryer: Spray the basket of the air fryer with cooking spray or brush lightly with oil to prevent sticking. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the shrimp: Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch to ensure even cooking. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until the shrimp are opaque and no longer pink. If cooking in batches, keep shrimp warm.
- Make the remoulade sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, whole grain mustard, lemon juice, hot sauce, seafood seasoning, and minced garlic until smooth and combined. Transfer to an airtight container and chill until serving. The sauce can be prepared several hours or even a day ahead.
- Serve: Plate the cooked shrimp and garnish with chopped Italian parsley and lemon wedges. Serve alongside the chilled spicy remoulade sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Keep shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer for even cooking and to avoid steaming.
- You can adjust the hot sauce in the remoulade to make it milder or spicier depending on your taste.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor in the remoulade sauce.
- Leftover shrimp can be refrigerated for up to 2 days but are best eaten fresh.
- Make sure shrimp are fully thawed if using frozen before cooking.
