This creamy and irresistibly delicious Chocolate Fruit Dip combines smooth cream cheese, rich Nutella, and fluffy whipped cream to create a perfect dessert dip. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s an ideal accompaniment for fresh fruit and other dippers, making it a crowd-pleaser for parties, snacks, or a sweet treat anytime.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Chocolate Fruit Dip

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, full-fat, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup Nutella or other hazelnut-chocolate spread
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt (a pinch)

Serving Suggestions

  • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • Apple slices
  • Banana slices
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Cookies or graham crackers

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar. In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even mixing.
  2. Add and combine Nutella. Add the Nutella to the cream cheese mixture and continue beating until fully incorporated, resulting in a rich chocolate-hazelnut base.
  3. Whip the heavy cream. In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment or a separate bowl using a hand mixer, whip the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt together until stiff peaks form, which will give the dip its light, airy texture.
  4. Fold whipped cream into Nutella mixture. Gently fold the whipped cream into the Nutella-cream cheese mixture using a spatula. Fold carefully until the mixture is smooth and homogenous. Avoid over-mixing to maintain the light texture.
  5. Serve the dip. Transfer the finished dip into a serving bowl. Arrange a selection of fresh fruit and dippers such as berries, banana slices, pretzels, or cookies around the bowl. For easy eating, skewer small berries with toothpicks. Enjoy immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For best results, make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the dip.
  • This dip is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Stir gently before serving if refrigerated.
  • Feel free to substitute Nutella with any hazelnut or chocolate spread of your choice.
  • Serving suggestions include a variety of fresh fruits and crunchy dippers to complement the creamy chocolate flavor.
