This Acai Bowl Recipe is a quick and nutritious breakfast or snack option featuring frozen acai berry puree blended with frozen fruits and your choice of milk or juice. Topped with nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, and granola, this bowl is rich in fiber, antioxidants, and healthy fats, perfect for a refreshing and wholesome start to your day.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 banana, sliced and frozen
  • ½ cup blueberries, frozen
  • ½ cup strawberries, frozen
  • ¾ cup milk or juice (dairy milk, soy, almond, apple juice, grape juice)
  • ½ cup plain yogurt (optional, can substitute with milk or juice)
  • 200 grams (2 packets) frozen acai puree, broken into pieces

Toppings

  • Assorted toppings such as nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, granola, coconut, etc.

Instructions

  1. Freeze the fruit: Slice the banana and place it on a small baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper along with the blueberries and strawberries. Freeze until the fruit is completely solid, using store-bought frozen fruit is also acceptable.
  2. Blend the base: Add the milk and plain yogurt to a high-speed blender. Add the frozen banana, blueberries, strawberries, and broken acai puree pieces. Start blending on low, using the blender tamper to push the frozen fruit towards the blades, and continue blending until smooth. Add more liquid if needed to achieve a creamy consistency.
  3. Assemble the bowl: Pour the smoothie mixture evenly into two bowls. Top with your favorite toppings such as sliced bananas, nuts, seeds, granola, coconut flakes, and fresh berries. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use a high-speed blender with a tamper to make blending frozen fruit easier.
  • You can substitute yogurt with more milk or juice to make a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust the amount of liquid to get your preferred thickness for the smoothie bowl.
  • Popular toppings include granola, chia seeds, shredded coconut, pumpkin seeds, and fresh berries.
  • Consume immediately for best freshness and texture, as smoothie bowls can melt quickly.
