This Easy Snickers Fudge is a decadent and delicious treat combining rich chocolate fudge, gooey caramel, salted peanuts, and a smooth chocolate topping. Made with simple ingredients like butter, cocoa, sugar, and milk, it’s layered beautifully to deliver the perfect balance of sweet and salty in every bite. Ideal for candy lovers looking for a quick and satisfying homemade dessert.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings

Ingredients

Fudge Base

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Caramel Layer

  • 11 oz caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 cups salted peanuts

Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prep: Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving the edges hanging over the sides to easily lift out the fudge later. Set aside.
  2. Cook Fudge Base: In a small pan over medium-low heat, combine the unsalted butter, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and milk. Stir often and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Once boiling, remove from heat, then stir in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until fully combined and smooth. Pour this fudge batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Prepare Caramel Layer: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels with water. Microwave in 15-second increments, stirring after each interval, until the caramels have completely melted (about 90 seconds). Stir in the salted peanuts thoroughly. Pour the caramel and peanut mixture over the chocolate fudge layer and spread evenly.
  4. Chocolate Topping: In another microwave-safe bowl, microwave the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 15-second increments, stirring each time until melted and smooth (about 30-50 seconds). Pour this melted chocolate evenly over the caramel layer and spread gently.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the assembled fudge for at least 1 hour or up to overnight to set. If left overnight, allow the fudge to come to room temperature before cutting. Lift the fudge out using the parchment paper edges and cut into 1-inch squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure to stir frequently when melting butter and sugar mixture to prevent burning.
  • Use salted peanuts for the perfect balance of sweet and salty flavor.
  • If you prefer, walnuts or pecans can be substituted for peanuts.
  • To get clean fudgy squares, let the fudge sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cutting after refrigeration.
  • Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
