Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 (32 ounce) package frozen meatballs
- 1 (14 ounce) jar P.F. Chang’s Home Menu Teriyaki Sauce for Dipping, Cooking & Marinating
- 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks or tidbits in juice
Optional
- Rice, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the meatballs and sauce: Place the frozen meatballs in a large skillet in a single layer, then pour in the jar of teriyaki sauce ensuring all meatballs are coated.
- Add pineapple and reserved juice: Drain the pineapple chunks, reserving the juice. Add the pineapple and 1/4 cup of the reserved pineapple juice to the skillet. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- Simmer on stovetop: Cover the skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 20 to 25 minutes or until the meatballs are thoroughly heated and the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Serve hot: For a full meal, serve the meatballs and pineapple over cooked rice with vegetables. For an appetizer, thread meatballs and pineapple chunks onto skewers and serve warm.
- Alternate slow cooker method: Spray the slow cooker liner with nonstick cooking spray, then add meatballs and teriyaki sauce. Drain pineapple, reserving juice, and add pineapple chunks and 1/4 cup juice to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Cook in slow cooker: Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours until hot throughout.
- Serve from slow cooker: Serve with rice and vegetables for a meal or use toothpicks for appetizer-style serving.
Notes
- For best flavor infiltration, allow the meatballs to cook covered so they absorb the teriyaki and pineapple juices.
- You can substitute homemade teriyaki sauce for a fresh twist.
- Adjust cooking times slightly depending on the size and brand of the meatballs used.
- Use extra pineapple juice to enhance the sauce sweetness if desired.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a crisp salad for a balanced meal.
