A nutritious and quick-to-prepare recipe for High Protein Overnight Oats featuring creamy Greek yogurt, gluten-free oats, chia seeds, and fresh or frozen mixed fruits. Perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack that requires minimal effort and can be made ahead of time.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 10-12 oz Greek yogurt (see notes)
  • 2/3 cup gluten free old fashioned oats (purity protocol oats recommended)
  • 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
  • 2 Tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 cups mixed fruit or berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Mix: In a small mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, gluten-free oats, milk, and chia seeds. Stir thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are evenly mixed and the chia seeds start to absorb the liquid.
  2. Layer: Let the mixture sit and thicken for about 5 minutes. Then, scoop half a cup of the oat mixture into the bottom of each 16oz mason jar or storage container. Add half a cup of mixed fruit or berries on top of the oats, then repeat the layering with another half cup of oats followed by the remaining fruit or berries. Finally, sprinkle each jar or container with sliced almonds for added crunch and flavor.
  3. Chill: Screw the lids on the jars or cover the containers tightly. Place them in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to allow the oats to soak and flavors to meld. The overnight oats can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days for convenient meal prep.

Notes

  • Use greek yogurt with higher protein content for an extra protein boost.
  • Purity protocol gluten-free oats are recommended to ensure there is no cross-contamination for those with gluten sensitivities.
  • Milk can be substituted with any plant-based milk such as almond, soy, or oat milk for dairy-free preference.
  • Adjust the thickness by adding more or less milk according to preference.
  • Sliced almonds add a nutty flavor and crunch; substitute or omit for nut allergies.
