Ingredients
Salmon Bites
- 1 pound salmon fillets
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- ½ Tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Salmon Bowl Components
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 head broccoli, steamed
- 1 large carrot, peeled and shredded
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 green onion, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon: Remove the skin from the salmon fillets using a sharp blade and discard it. Chop the fillets into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
- Make the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, olive oil, honey, soy sauce, ground black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined. Coat the salmon cubes evenly with the marinade. (Optional: Double the sauce amount to use extra as a dressing later.)
- Preheat and Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the salmon cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through. Turning the salmon halfway through cooking is optional for even crispiness.
- Garnish the Salmon Bites: Once cooked, serve the salmon bites warm sprinkled with sesame seeds for added texture and flavor.
- Assemble the Salmon Bowl: In a medium bowl, add 4 ounces of the cooked salmon bites, ½ cup of cooked white rice, ⅓ cup of shredded carrots, ¼ sliced avocado, and 1 cup of steamed broccoli florets. Top with sesame seeds, sliced green onion, and your favorite dressing such as the reserved teriyaki sauce or sriracha mayo for a flavorful touch.
Notes
- Be sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure the salmon cooks evenly and crisps properly.
- You can double the sauce recipe to have extra dressing to drizzle over the bowl or serve on the side.
- For a low-sodium option, use low-sodium soy sauce and teriyaki sauce.
- Leftover salmon bites can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
- Feel free to swap white rice for brown rice or cauliflower rice for a healthier alternative.
- Use fresh, high-quality salmon fillets for the best taste and texture.
