Homemade Cherry Limeade Popsicles are a refreshing and tangy frozen treat perfect for hot summer days. Made with fresh cherries, zesty lime juice, and a touch of sweetness from simple syrup, these popsicles are easy to prepare and bursting with natural flavors. Enjoy this chilled delight to cool down and satisfy your sweet cravings with a healthy twist.

  • Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 10 popsicles

Ingredients

Fresh Ingredients

  • 4 fresh limes
  • 2 cups fresh cherries (pitted)

Other Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cherries: Wash and pit the cherries using a cherry pitter. If you don’t have a cherry pitter, use a small knife to remove the pits carefully.
  2. Juice the Limes: Using a juicer or by hand, squeeze the juice from each lime half until you collect about ½ cup (120 ml) of fresh lime juice.
  3. Make Simple Syrup: In a cup of water, add the granulated sugar and stir thoroughly until the sugar completely dissolves, creating a sweet syrup.
  4. Blend Ingredients: Place the pitted cherries into a blender, add the fresh lime juice and the simple syrup, then blend until you get a smooth, consistent mixture.
  5. Fill Molds: Pour the blended cherry limeade mixture into ice pop molds, filling each mold evenly.
  6. Insert Sticks and Lid: Place the lids on the molds and insert the popsicle sticks securely.
  7. Freeze Popsicles: Freeze the molds for at least 6 hours or until the popsicles are completely solid.
  8. Remove Popsicles: Once frozen, gently apply pressure to the base of the molds while lifting the popsicles by the sticks. To ease removal, dip the tips of metal or plastic molds in warm water for about 10 seconds before pulling out the popsicles.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the popsicles immediately for a refreshing and tangy summer treat.

Notes

  • For easier cherry pitting, use a cherry pitter tool if available.
  • If you prefer a tarter taste, reduce the sugar quantity slightly.
  • Use fresh limes for the best citrus flavor; bottled lime juice may alter the taste.
  • Try adding a handful of mint leaves while blending for a fresh twist.
  • Store leftover popsicles wrapped or in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn.
