Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups Powdered Milk
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- ⅛ – ¼ teaspoon Sea Salt (adjust according to preference)
- ¾ cup Cacao Powder
Chocolate
- 4 ounces chopped Bittersweet Chocolate
- 4.4 ounces chopped Milk Chocolate
Optional
- 1 Vanilla Bean
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Place the powdered milk, powdered sugar, sea salt, and cacao powder in the bowl of a food processor. Process briefly to mix the ingredients evenly and create a homogenous base for the cocoa mix.
- Add Chocolate: Add the chopped bittersweet and milk chocolates to the food processor. Pulse several times until the chocolate pieces are finely chopped and distributed uniformly throughout the powder mixture.
- Store the Mix: Transfer the completed hot cocoa mix into an airtight jar along with the optional vanilla bean for flavor infusion. Seal the jar tightly to preserve freshness until ready to use or gift.
Notes
- Adjust the sea salt amount based on personal taste preference to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- The vanilla bean is optional but adds a subtle depth of flavor if included.
- To prepare hot cocoa, typically mix 2-3 tablespoons of the hot cocoa mix with 8 ounces of hot milk or water, stirring until smooth.
- This mix keeps well for several weeks when stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute powdered milk with a suitable non-dairy powdered milk alternative.
