Ingredients
Vegetables and Protein
- 1 Tbsp (16g) Olive Oil, divided
- 12 oz Broccoli Florets, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (97/3)
Sauce
- 1/4 C (60g) Sweet Chili Sauce
- 2 Tbsp (42g) Honey
- 2-3 Tbsp (30-45g) Sriracha, to spice preference
- 2 Tbsp (30g) Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp (16g) Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
Garnish
- Sesame Seeds
- Green Onion, sliced
Instructions
- Roast the Broccoli: Heat 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and let them cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes to create a nice browning on one side. Then stir and continue to cook until the broccoli turns a dark green and is tender, about 3-4 more minutes. Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Ground Chicken: Add the remaining 1/2 Tbsp olive oil to the same skillet. Add the ground chicken and cook over medium-high heat until brown on both sides. Break up the meat with a spatula and continue cooking until fully cooked through.
- Prepare the Sauce and Combine: While the chicken cooks, mix together the sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, garlic powder, and ground ginger in a bowl. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Finish the Dish: Once the sauce has thickened, return the roasted broccoli to the skillet. Stir everything together to coat the broccoli with the sauce and heat through for about a minute.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of Sriracha to control the spice level to your preference.
- For a lower sodium version, use low-sodium soy sauce.
- Ground turkey or lean pork can be used as a substitute for ground chicken.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- Make sure not to overcook the broccoli to maintain some crispness and vibrant color.
