Ingredients
Chicken Wings and Marinade
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- ¼ cup oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
Seasoned Butter Sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for roasting the chicken wings.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, curry powder, chili powder, garam masala, coriander, salt, black pepper, and granulated sugar. Mix thoroughly to create a vibrant marinade.
- Marinate the Chicken: Toss the chicken wings in the marinade ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Roast the Wings: Lay the marinated chicken wings spread out on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Flip and Continue Roasting: Flip the chicken wings and roast for an additional 10 minutes until the wings are cooked through and no longer pink inside.
- Prepare Butter Sauce: While the wings cook, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped cilantro and lemon pepper seasoning, stirring to combine and allowing it to simmer gently for 30 seconds.
- Coat the Wings: Drizzle the seasoned butter sauce over the roasted chicken wings and toss well to coat each wing evenly.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the Indian Butter Chicken Wings hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, you may broil them for the last 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- If fresh cilantro is unavailable, substitute with dried cilantro but reduce the quantity to 1 tablespoon.
- Adjust chili powder amount to control the heat level according to your preference.
- Letting the chicken marinate longer (up to 2 hours refrigerated) will intensify the flavor.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in an oven or air fryer for best results.
