Ingredients
Salmon
- 2 salmon filets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Juice of 1 lemon (divided)
- 2 Tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
Instructions
- Prep. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure the salmon does not stick and for easy cleanup.
- Season the salmon. Gently rub both salmon filets evenly with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to infuse flavor throughout the fish.
- Bake. Place the salmon filets in a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Squeeze half of the lemon juice over the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, checking at 12 minutes to test if the salmon flakes easily with a fork but still looks slightly translucent in the center for optimal tenderness.
- Finish it off. Remove the salmon from the oven, squeeze the remaining half of the lemon juice over it, and sprinkle with the fresh chopped parsley for brightness and color before serving.
Notes
- Check salmon early to avoid overcooking, which can dry out the fish.
- Use fresh parsley for best flavor, but dried can be substituted if necessary.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
- Can be doubled easily for larger servings.
