Lemon Mint Juice, also known as Lebanese Lemonana, is a refreshing and tangy beverage made from fresh lemons, lime, mint leaves, and sweetened with maple syrup. Enhanced with an optional hint of orange blossom water, this cold, invigorating drink is perfect for hot days and offers a delightful balance of citrusy and minty flavors.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Juice Ingredients

  • 2 medium lemons (roughly chopped with skin)
  • 1 medium lime (roughly chopped with skin)
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water (optional)
  • 3-4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place the roughly chopped lemons and lime (with skin), fresh mint leaves, maple syrup, orange blossom water (if using), and 3 cups of cold water into a blender. Add ice if you prefer a colder, slushier texture.
  2. Blend: Blend on high speed until all ingredients are smoothly combined and the mixture appears homogenous. This usually takes about 30-60 seconds. Taste the juice and adjust by adding more water to dilute or more sweetener as per your preference.
  3. Strain: Pour the blended mixture through a fine sieve or nut milk cloth to extract the juice and separate out the pulp and mint residue. Use a spoon or spatula to gently press and maximize juice extraction.
  4. Serve: Discard the leftover pulp and pour the strained juice into glasses filled with ice cubes. Serve immediately for the freshest taste.

Notes

  • For a smoother juice, be sure to strain well to remove pulp.
  • Orange blossom water is optional but adds a delicate floral aroma typical to Lebanese lemonana.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup according to taste.
  • Using skin adds extra bitterness and nutrients but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Serve chilled, especially on hot days, for a refreshing drink.
