4.2 from 5 reviews

A rich and creamy Malted Milkshake combining the smooth flavors of malted milk powder, chocolate syrup, and vanilla ice cream, resulting in a nostalgic and indulgent treat perfect for any time of day.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Milkshake Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons whole milk
  • 3/4 cup malted milk powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 5 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1 (1.5-quart) container vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare glasses. Chill glasses in the freezer for a few minutes to ensure your milkshake stays cold longer when served.
  2. Blend initial ingredients. In a high-powered blender, combine the whole milk, malted milk powder, fine sea salt, vanilla extract if using, and chocolate syrup. Blend these ingredients until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. Add ice cream. Add the vanilla ice cream to the blender and blend just until it’s incorporated. Be careful not to over blend, as this can make the milkshake too thin and lose its creamy texture.
  4. Serve. Pour the malted milkshake into the chilled glasses. Top with whipped cream if desired and add any additional toppings of your choice to enhance flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • For a thicker shake, add more ice cream or reduce blending time.
  • Vanilla extract is optional but adds a subtle flavor depth.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute whole milk and ice cream with plant-based alternatives.
  • Make sure not to over blend once ice cream is added to maintain the shake’s thick texture.
  • Chilling the glasses helps keep the milkshake cold and enjoyable longer.
