A fresh and vibrant Peach Salsa recipe combining ripe peaches with zesty lime, jalapeño heat, and fresh herbs for a perfect sweet and spicy dip or topping. Quick to prepare and ideal for summer gatherings or as a flavorful accompaniment to grilled meats and tortilla chips.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Fruits and Vegetables

  • 3 peaches (fresh, yellow, ripe – diced into 1/2 inch cubes)
  • ¼ red onion (chopped)
  • ½ red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 roma tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 jalapeno (diced, remove the seeds for less spice)
  • ½ cup cilantro (chopped)

Liquids and Seasonings

  • ½ cup fresh lime juice (1-2 limes)
  • Garlic salt and pepper to taste
  • Sugar (sprinkle)
  • Chili powder (optional sprinkle)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peaches: Rub peaches softly with a cloth to gently remove peach fuzz. Rinse under cool water and pat dry.
  2. Chop Ingredients: Dice the peaches, roma tomatoes, red onion, and red bell pepper into uniform pieces about ½ inch in size. Dice the jalapeño, removing seeds if you prefer a milder salsa. Chop the cilantro finely. Combine all these ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Add Lime and Seasonings: Pour fresh lime juice over the chopped ingredients. Season with garlic salt, pepper, and a light sprinkle of sugar to balance flavors. Toss gently to combine. If desired, add chili powder to increase spiciness and toss again.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Sample the salsa and adjust seasoning accordingly by adding more lime juice, salt, pepper, or sugar to achieve your preferred balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors.

Notes

  • Use ripe peaches for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Removing jalapeño seeds will reduce the salsa’s spiciness.
  • This salsa is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
  • Perfect as a topping for grilled chicken, fish, or as a dip with tortilla chips.
  • Add finely chopped red or green chili for extra heat if desired.
