This Peppermint Espresso Martini is a festive and flavorful holiday cocktail combining the rich taste of espresso with refreshing peppermint and smooth vodka. Perfect for holiday gatherings, it features a chocolate and crushed candy cane rim for an extra special touch.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 martinis

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 oz vodka (vanilla vodka optional, ensure gluten free if needed)
  • 2 oz Kahlua or coffee liqueur
  • 3 oz fresh brewed espresso, cooled or strong cold brew coffee
  • 2 oz half & half (for dairy-free option use Nutpods or Califia Farms Peppermint Mocha creamer)
  • ¼ tsp peppermint extract

Chocolate Peppermint Rims & Garnish

  • Chocolate syrup
  • Candy canes, crushed
  • 6 espresso beans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass rims: Dip the rims of 2 martini glasses into chocolate syrup to evenly coat the edges. Then dip the coated rims into crushed candy canes to create a festive peppermint and chocolate rim for each glass.
  2. Mix the cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add 4 oz vodka, 2 oz Kahlua, 3 oz cooled espresso or cold brew coffee, 2 oz half & half (or dairy-free alternative), and ¼ tsp peppermint extract to the shaker.
  3. Shake well: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 60 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients thoroughly, creating a frothy and inviting martini mixture.
  4. Serve: Strain and evenly divide the cocktail mixture between the prepared martini glasses. Float 3 espresso beans on top of each drink as garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy your festive Peppermint Espresso Martini!

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute half & half with a peppermint mocha creamer like Nutpods or Califia Farms.
  • Use freshly brewed espresso cooled to room temperature or a strong cold brew for best coffee flavor.
  • Ensure vodka is gluten free if dietary restrictions apply.
  • Shaking vigorously with ice is essential to achieve the desired frothy texture and chill.
