Ingredients
Snack Base
- 21 mini pretzel twists
Chocolate Coating
- 4 ounces (about ¾ cup) white chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon oil (or shortening)
Decoration
- 7 green M&M’s (or similar candy-coated chocolate)
- Green sanding sugar
Instructions
- Prep: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the mini pretzel twists in groups of three to form the shape of a shamrock on the prepared sheet. You can also create a four-leaf clover shape if you prefer.
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of oil. Heat the mixture in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring for 15 seconds between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Take care not to overheat to prevent burning.
- Apply Chocolate: Use a spoon to carefully drop the melted white chocolate into the holes created by the pretzels, then gently smooth the chocolate with your finger to create an even layer on top of each shamrock-shaped cluster.
- Decorate: Place one green M&M in the center of each pretzel shamrock. Immediately sprinkle green sanding sugar or other sprinkles over the white chocolate to add sparkle and festive color.
- Set & Store: Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to speed up the process. Once set, transfer the pretzel shamrocks to an airtight container for storage and enjoy your festive treat.
Notes
- Use mini pretzel twists for the best shamrock shape and size.
- Vegetable oil or any neutral oil works well to thin the white chocolate for smoother application.
- You can substitute green candy-coated chocolates with any green candies or sprinkles you prefer.
- Store the pretzel shamrocks in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to one week.
- For a four-leaf clover design, use four pretzels instead of three.
