Ingredients
Potatoes and Vegetables
- 5 medium russet potatoes, sliced
- 1 cup white onion, sliced (about 1 small onion)
Seasonings and Sauces
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic, minced (1 large clove)
Dairy
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Prepare butter mixture: In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and minced garlic until well combined to create a flavorful coating for the potatoes.
- Combine potatoes and cheese: Add the sliced potatoes, Parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese, and sliced onion to the butter mixture. Toss gently but thoroughly until all the potato slices and onions are evenly coated with the butter and seasonings.
- Prepare the slow cooker: Spray the slow cooker insert with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Layer the potato mixture: Transfer the potato, cheese, and onion mixture into the slow cooker, smoothing it out into an even layer to ensure uniform cooking.
- Cook the potatoes: Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on HIGH for 4 hours. Avoid opening the lid during the cooking time to retain heat and moisture, ensuring the potatoes become tender and the cheese melts perfectly.
- Serve: Once the cooking time is complete, give the potatoes a gentle stir if desired, then serve hot as a delicious side dish and enjoy!
Notes
- For best results, use uniform potato slices to ensure even cooking.
- Do not open the slow cooker lid during cooking to maintain temperature and moisture.
- You can add cooked bacon or herbs like parsley for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop or microwave.
- Use a slow cooker liner or spray to make cleaning easier.
