A flavorful and spicy Thai-inspired noodle dish combining linguine with a rich sauce made from chili paste, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, honey, and toasted sesame oil. Perfect for a quick and easy meal that can be enjoyed hot, cold, or at room temperature, garnished with fresh scallions, peanuts, and cilantro for added texture and flavor.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 lb linguine pasta (or fettuccine, spaghetti, etc.)

Sauce

  • 1/2 – 1 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (adjust to desired spiciness)
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/3 – 1/2 cup toasted sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili paste
  • 6 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 Tbsp honey

Garnishes

  • Chopped scallions
  • Shredded carrots
  • Crushed peanuts
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Sriracha sauce (optional)
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare Garnishes: Chop scallions, carrots, peanuts, and cilantro, then set them aside for garnishing the noodles later.
  2. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta thoroughly.
  3. Infuse Oils with Spice: While pasta cooks, heat the vegetable oil and toasted sesame oil together in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the red pepper flakes to the hot oil to infuse it with heat and flavor.
  4. Make Sauce: Once the oil is hot and fragrant, strain out the red pepper flakes, reserving the infused oil in a bowl. Pour the reserved oil back into the skillet, then add chili paste. Whisk in soy sauce and honey until well combined to create a smooth, flavorful sauce.
  5. Toss Pasta with Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss it in the sauce until evenly coated and heated through.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Serve the spicy Thai noodles hot, at room temperature, or cold. Top with the prepared garnishes including scallions, carrots, peanuts, cilantro, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of Sriracha if desired. Enjoy your flavorful dish!
