  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 48 cups

Ingredients

Wonton Cups

  • 48 wonton wrappers

Spinach Artichoke Dip Filling

  • 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 15 oz canned or jarred artichokes, chopped and strained
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the wonton cups and warming the dip.
  2. Prepare Wonton Cups: Spray mini muffin tins with non-stick baking spray. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, creating a cup shape by gently molding with your fingers.
  3. Bake Wonton Shells: Place the muffin tins in the oven and bake the wonton wrappers for 7-8 minutes, or until they are lightly browned and crispy. Remove them from the oven and let them cool on a cooling rack.
  4. Prepare Spinach: Cook the frozen chopped spinach either in the microwave or on the stove until thawed. Then, place the spinach in a clean dish towel, squeeze, and ring out excess liquid thoroughly.
  5. Soften Cream Cheese: Heat the cream cheese in the microwave for about one minute until it is softened but not melted, making it easier to mix.
  6. Mix Dip Filling: In an oven-safe mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cooked spinach, chopped artichokes (strained), mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, and kosher salt. Mix well until fully blended.
  7. Warm Dip: Spread the dip mixture evenly in the oven-safe dish, sprinkle the top with ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese, and place it in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes until warmed through.
  8. Fill Wonton Cups: Spoon the warm spinach artichoke dip into each cooled wonton cup, filling them nearly to the top.
  9. Serve: Serve the filled wonton cups warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Ensure spinach is well drained to avoid soggy dip.
  • You can use fresh spinach if preferred, cooking and draining it similarly.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt with sour cream for a slightly different flavor.
  • Feel free to add additional spices such as black pepper or red pepper flakes for extra kick.
  • Wonton cups are best served fresh but can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to one day and reheated gently.
