Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white beans or chickpeas (canned)
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup water
- handful fresh spinach (for color)
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp pistachios
Instructions
- Combine ingredients: In a blender, combine all of the ingredients except the pistachios. This will prepare the base of the dip.
- Blend until smooth: Blend the mixture for about one minute or until everything breaks down to a smooth consistency, ensuring an even texture.
- Add pistachios: Add the 2 tablespoons of pistachios and blend for another 10 to 15 seconds. This will break down the pistachios slightly, adding texture without fully pureeing them.
- Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately as a fruit dip or spread.
Notes
- The fresh spinach is added solely for color and doesn’t affect the flavor significantly.
- Use canned white beans or chickpeas for convenience; rinse them before use for better flavor and texture.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup to suit your taste.
- For texture preference, you can blend the pistachios less or more depending on whether you want more crunch or creaminess.
- This dip pairs wonderfully with fresh fruits like apple slices, pears, or berries.
