Ingredients
Venison Marinade
- 1 lb venison, cut into strips
- 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
Vegetables
- 1 cup sweet pepper, cut into strips
- 1 carrot, cut into strips
- 1 onion, cut into strips
- 1/2 cup broccoli florets
Garnishes
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (for garnish)
- Green onions (for garnish)
- Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Marinate the Venison: In a plastic bag, combine the venison strips with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Stir to coat evenly, seal the bag, and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours to allow flavors to deeply penetrate the meat.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, sweet pepper, and carrot. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften but retain some crunch.
- Cook the Venison: Add the marinated venison along with any remaining marinade and the honey to the pan with the vegetables. Stir continuously and fry for approximately 10 minutes until the venison is cooked through and nicely caramelized.
- Add Broccoli and Garlic: Incorporate the broccoli florets and chopped garlic into the pan. Stir-fry everything together for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp and the garlic is fragrant.
- Serve: Transfer the venison stir-fry to serving plates. Garnish with sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, and chopped green onions. Serve alongside steamed rice for a complete meal.
Notes
- Marinating the venison for 2-3 hours helps tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor.
- Adjust the amount of honey and soy sauce according to your taste preference for sweetness and saltiness.
- For a spicier dish, increase the red pepper flakes or add fresh chili slices.
- Use a hot pan for stir-frying to achieve a nice sear on the venison and vegetables while maintaining their texture.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
